Lilac Xia Jones can’t deny that she gets into a lot of trouble: but it’s not her fault that the world of the supernatural is constantly revealing itself to her.
Like the time she let a mermaid crash in a kitty pool in the garage for a week, or when an ancient goddess tried to turn her into a talking snake. Lilac doesn't mind, though - not if it means she gets a talking cat and a chance to play with a bunch of dangerous magical artefacts.
When Lilac finds a magic emerald amulet that can open portals to other dimensions, she’s thrilled: finally a way to get to class on time! But things don’t often work out the way she wants them to, and soon Lilac finds herself teaming up with Nix - a dreamy demon from another world - in order to stop a war between the Underlings - leprechauns, though you better not call them that to their faces - and the high school lunch ladies.
If Lilac can harness the power of the amulet, she may just be able to stop the Underlings from being crushed. If they don’t kill her first, that is . . .
